Where Does Bush Get the Authority?

According to President Bush, political appointees in the Justice Department drafted memos outlining the legal authority around restrictions in FISA and the Constitution that he believes allows him to authorize wire taps without a warrant or any kind of oversight. I think we're entitled to see those memos. If you agree, sign on to a Freedom of Information Act request for those memos.

It's that special time of year, the Winter Solstice is upon us. Also many cultures celebrate their Holy Days by holding wild office parties where the accounting folks dance nude on the tables and junior account executives show they can't hold their drink.

So, let's meet to drink and eat our fill and regale each other with raucous tales of skirmishes in the culture wars.

Once again we will hold our festivities at Ben 'N Nick's Bar & Grill in Oakland, on Thursday, December 15, at 6 PM until Bart closes.
